To meet its own high quality standard, the semi-conductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies launched the corporate program “Next Level of Zero Defect.” One of the challenges of the program is the sustainably integration of awareness for quality and handling errors openly and consistently across the enterprise. At the end of 2009, the pharmaceutical company Merck & Co took over competitor Schering-Plough; the merger of the two German subsidiaries (MSD Sharp & Dohme and Essex Pharma) was not performed until a year later.
